The San Rafael High School Music Booster Association has been in operation for over 15 years. They support the music program in a variety of ways including raising funds to help cover operating costs and enrichment opportunities. Funds are used for sheet music, equipment, instrument repairs, festival fees, coaches, accompanists and student scholarships for private music instruction. Members meet monthly with the teachers to identify needs and design/implement strategies to address these and to hear about outcomes of festival performances, department updates, and other special events.

The Music Boosters sponsor an annual ‘Big Band Dance’, in which parents and students from the high school and Davidson Middle School enjoy and dance to the music of the two school’s jazz bands. This is the Music Boosters’ main fundraising event.

May 14: Music Boosters Big Band Dance at B Street Community Center in San Rafael. From 7-10pm. Admission Students $5; adults $10. Dinner $10. Performances by San Rafael High Jazz Bands & Choir, plus the Davidson Middle School Jazz Band.
